The session focused on exploring the impact of computer technology in education, the roles and functions of computers in the classroom, and the advantages and disadvantages of integrating computer technology into the education system.
Initially, I felt excited to learn more about the topic as I believe that technology plays a crucial role in shaping the future of education. However, as the session progressed, I also became increasingly concerned about the potential negative effects of relying too heavily on computer technology.
The sessions were very informative and provided a comprehensive overview of the different ways that computers can be used in education. I particularly appreciated the discussion on the various roles and functions that computers can play in the classroom, such as supporting instruction, facilitating collaboration, and providing students with personalized learning experiences.
One of the key insights that emerged from the sessions is that while computers can offer many benefits to the education system, they can also have some negative effects. For example, relying too heavily on computers may lead to a lack of face-to-face interaction between students and teachers, which can hinder the development of social and communication skills.
Overall, I believe that computer technology can be a valuable tool for enhancing education, but it should be used in a balanced and thoughtful way. Educators must be mindful of the potential drawbacks and work to integrate technology in ways that support learning while also promoting social and emotional development.
Going forward, I plan to continue learning about the latest trends and innovations in educational technology, and to think critically about how these technologies can best be leveraged to support student learning and development. I also plan to share my insights with colleagues and students to promote a balanced and thoughtful approach to integrating technology into the education system.
